Discussion Policy

We actively encourage readers to join in on the discussion threads. The articles, it is hoped, are fruitful in themselves but we believe that they are more useful as prompts for discussion.

Spam is not tolerated: at best, it distracts readers from genuine comments, and at worst it makes readers less likely to participate on the discussion threads. As such, we take a pro-active approach to spam:

  • Anyone commenting on the website must first register as a member. This takes a matter of seconds, but greatly reduces the number of automated spam messages. It also provides a unique identity (even if pseudonymous) on the site, which facilitates the community aspect.
  • A user’s first comment is moderated automatically this allows us to ensure that they are real people and not spammers.
  • If subsequent comments fall foul of the Policy, we reserve the right to act to: Delete comments; Edit comments to remove inappropriate content; Ban users, their e-mail addresses, or their IP Addresses from the website.

Comments are judged to be spam according to, but not limited to, the following guidelines:

  • Those which contain several links to external websites of no relevance to the article commented on;
  • Those which contain inappropriate language, as judged by the moderators (comments should be suitable to be read at any age);
  • Those which contain personally offensive content, or that which is slanderous;
  • Those which are unduly aggressive in tone or content;
  • Those which are unrelated to to the article on which the comment was left.

We hope that by moderating according to this Policy, and by making its contents prominent on the site, we can foster a culture of prolific, constructive discussion for the aid of all readers.

If you have any queries about the Discussion Policy, please do not hesitate to contact the Managing Editor.

What's On Crossring

Crossring is a community of Christians who meet together online in fellowship around the Christian faith and the Bible.

As part of our active lifestyle of prayer and Bible reading, we are currently reading a small section of the Bible together each day and sharing our responses to it with each other. We also publish a short devotional thought on a key verse or two from each day's passage to prompt prayer or reflection.
